Routines / Habits / Reccurring tasks
🚨 I am happy to say it is now implemented!
You can create recurring items of 3 types:
- precise: e.g. every 3rd January, every monday and friday, etc.
- flexible: e.g. at least 3 times a week, at least 2 times a year.
- on-demand: you can save checklist with different steps (e.g. a recipe, a workout, a process you follow at work...) and then schedule them whenever you need them
You can also have basic items (done, yes/no) or progressive items (e.g. read 50 pages)
And every item can have subtasks/steps.
You will also see appear your recurring items in the timeline and you can drag them around like tasks.

Support recurring tasks/habits/routines
It should be possible to have time limited tasks. For instance, if I need to take medication every day for 10 days, I should be able to add that, and to see nealty in the UI my progress across the days.
So for time-limited habits, show the progress
For non time limited habits, show streaks?
Also, as soon as a habit is done within its designated period, it shouldn’t reappear until the next start of the period.
e.g., “Submit taxes once a year, between the 10 of june and 10 of july, deadline being 10 of july”.
Also implement custom titles that update base on reoccurence. Example, for the task “post a daily video”, it could show up on the calendar as “post daily video 1”, “post daily video 2”, etc

Sports are in my case all about routines - swimming 3 times a week, running at least 2 times a week etc. I would measure my success with an ability to built and stick to the routine. Rarely setup one offs like tennis with Alex etc

Check out the update I released just today!
You can now time track routines, keep track of your progress, see the remaining routines for the week, etc.

Honestly, I can't even use this app unless it has a repeat option available. Very disappointed with the lack of this basic and common feature.

I completely understand. I will let you know as soon as it is available. Hopefully <1 month
If you can give me some examples of how you would use it, that would help me make sure your use case will be supported.

Sure, I'm referring to having the option to repeat certain tasks and or activities so that they would automatically be scheduled to take place again within a set time period. I have individual tasks to whole blocks of tasks (aka subtasks) that I would love to have scheduled to take place on a daily, weekly, even monthly basis.
For example, every weekday (Mon. thru Fri.) I have online classes that are scheduled from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM (Evening IT program) that while I know already ahead of time to block out that part of my day, I still like to have a visual and even a reminder set at least 30 minutes in advance so that I can manage my time accordingly for that time period before class starts.
I also have to visit a clinic every 2 weeks in the morning for therapy sessions as well as drug testing so I can continue refilling my prescribed medication (it's a highly controlled substance). I like to have these routine appointments blocked off in my calendar so that I can more easily schedule my tasks around it.
Hopefully that helps convey my request for a “repeat” option more clearly. Thanks for your response too, btw.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give me these examples.
Blocks of recurring tasks/sub tasks → I will support this through “routines” (aka multi step recurring actions).
For the rest, habits/recurring tasks should support your use cases. Also having the calendar integration in orakemu will be a game changer for you.
I’ll keep you posted once these features are implemented!

Hi Lisa!
Check out the update I released just today.
You can now time track routines, keep track of your progress, see the remaining routines for the week, etc.
Let me know what’s still missing for you and I will work on it next. My next priorities are: notifications/reminders and google/apple/caldav calendar integration

It would be great to also have “repeat after completion”. E.g. every 2 weeks after the task was last completed

Loving the app so far. Unfortunately for me, it is unusable without daily, weekly and monthly habits.
I have a weekly work schedule and a weekly cleaning schedule.
This function will also help to remind me when to pay bills, eg. electricity bimonthly, car insurance twice a year, etc etc.
I believe this is your top priority as far as app development at the moment. I will subscribe as soon as you update ;)
Thanks for your work.

Thank you so much for leaving a comment Alexei!
This really gives me extra motivation to ship this feature :)
The examples you gave are exactly the kind of use cases I wanted to support when I first envisioned Orakemu. I want it to become the app that lets you set up systems and routines for your life. Or to use the RPG metaphor: create your own set of rules, missions, and quests to live by!
I will keep you posted and will update the status here as soon as it is available.
Thank you for the support.

Hi! thanks for leaving a comment and considering orakemu.
What price would be reasonable?
And I will consider reducing the age limit to 16 but that might take some time as it might have some legal implications

Price starting from…..4€ to 5€ for a month….if the price is too much to decrease….you can consider giving offers for students or people below 18….I am just giving an idea about the price range…

Okay, thanks for the suggestions.
The yearly plan makes it about 4/5 euros per month. But I will for sure consider options for student discounts in the future
